2. Which data do we process when you use our website?
We need some technical information about your IP address and device to show you our website in the best manner, in particular, to provide you with the content on our website in your language and in the appropriate size for your screen.

As you visit our website, we particularly collect the following data (as part of an HTTP request and by means of web technologies such as HTML and Java Script):
- Your IP address (i.e. a label/code made of numbers that identifies your internet access point/your device on an internet network)
- Information about your device, for example the type of the internet browser you use or the size of your screen.
2.2 Who else gets access to your data?
To show you our website, we rely on the web hosting service provider AWS. AWS processes your personal data for our purposes, only, and does not use your data for other purposes.
2.3 Why are we allowed to process this data?
We process this data to inform our visitors about our research and development projects in the best manner. This is our legitimate interest, according to Art. 6 sect. 1 lit. f GDPR. (We can do this, because the legitimate interest is one of the lawful basis for processing personal data (referenced in Art. 6 sect. 1 lit. f) GDPR.)
2.4 How long do we keep your data?
For showing you our website, we process your IP address and your device information until the website has finished loading. After loading, your data is deleted. (However, for security purposes your data may be stored for a longer period of time, see next chapter 3).
2.5 What are your rights?
Regarding data processed for this purpose (loading our website) some of your rights, such as concerning data access or erasure, might not apply if the data has been already deleted at the time of request. (However, see your rights in connection with the storage of your data for security purposes, see in more detail next chapter 3.5).
3. Which data do we process when we improve the security of our website?
We collect certain data through our service provider to maintain the technical security of our website. We analyze technical problems and attacks we may experience on our website.
